During the Foundation stage at The Marton Academy, we aim to create a nurturing environment where all children feel safe and supported to reach their highest potential. We are dedicated to providing the tools to allow children to become independent thinkers that feel confident to assess and take risks. We strive to provide an individualised approach which ensures each child makes at least good progress and are ready for taking their next step into Year 1. We are loyal to instilling a positive growth mindset within where mistakes are always welcomed. It is our mission to create meaningful and lasting experiences that develop each child’s knowledge and development with the support of strong parental partnerships.

Foundation Stage Long Term Plan

Further to our Reception class, the academy offers provision for Under 4s as a mixed foundation class for up to 30 hours per week.

Marton Academy ‘Little Gems’ attend the mixed foundation class. This gives them an excellent start and prepares them for a seamless transition when they begin school full time.

‘Little Gems’ wear the academy uniform and join with the Reception age pupils for some learning activities throughout the day.

Marton ‘Little Gems’ have a separate playtime in the foundation stage environment. Their key worker is Miss Hall.

The Early Years leader, Mrs Thombs oversees and support their learning.
